Forum color change (Part of: Ongoing forum maintenance & intermittent downtime)

We are currently doing a number of tasks relating to maintaining and upgrading these forums.

Our goal is that these tasks should have as little impact on your use of the forums as possible, but unfortunately, there are a few things that can't be done without some forum downtime.

The first of these is currently scheduled for the morning (CET) of Monday July 21st. It shouldn't last long; my guesstimate is an hour or so.

We apologize for the inconvenience of this, but we also trust that in the end, with the forum itself more stable and with less unscheduled downtime; perhaps even with some nifty new features, it will be worth it :)

Best regards,
The AGEOD administrator team

Forum being moved on Monday July 28th

Moving on with the forum maintenance and updates we're doing, we will be moving the forums to a new server on Monday next week (July 28th)

What does this mean?

  • The forums will be unavailable for a period of time on Monday, starting at 9 AM (Central European Time).
  • The estimate is 3-4 hours total downtime (though that's before good ol' Murphy has had his say ;) )
  • Even after moving, the address to the forums will be the same, so there is no need to update your bookmarks or anything.

Right now, we are doing various forms of testing to ensure that the process goes as smooth as we can make it. If the results of those tests aren't satisfactory, the server move will be postponed. If so happens, you'll be notified of it (here).

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

The server has been moved, and is now online at its new location :)

There is a small lag as the server's new address is spread across the internet, so you may experience that some links may not work as you expect they would. These problems should be gone by tomorrow, though.

If you discover problems or errors with the site after its move, we will appreciate very much if you notify us, so we can look into it and get it fixed :cwboy:

The shortcut links are among the things that need for the new server address to be spread.

There is also a problem with accessing attachments to posts which we are looking into.

It seems like file upload does not work at NCP modding page.

As regard I tried twice.....with no positive results!
Please check!

Another reason to upload your stuff to Mediafire and then just post a url link instead.

see: http://www.mediafire.com (It's free and each file has a 100 MByte size limit)

It's not only a NCP modding pages trouble.
Attachments do not upload at other pages of the site too.
.....I'll try with http://www.mediafire.com!!!!

Gary's theory of size limit trouble is good; how large is your attachment, and which filetype is it?

Just one more piece of information:
I'm using a traditional, slow phone-net line connection. NO wide-band ADSL.
Please verify there are not time limit to the upload!

Dang, I hate it when people encounter problems that I can reproduce myself :(

I'll have to look into it to find out what's going on.
