=======================================================================================================BOA2 :

Wars in America patch 1.09a

November 9, 2011

==========================================================================================================>

  • Adds
the GameRules.opt that was omitted from 1.09

[1.09]

  • Fixed rare CTD seen with
    structures being captured

  • Canadian Militia (in French and
Indian Wars) now upgrade to Light Infantry (used to upgrade to
    Troupes de Marine)

  • Corrected terrain at Dorchester
Heights and Worcester (thank you simovich)

  • Introduced “Turn 0” options
    to 1775 and 1776 Campaign.

  • Added Models and Units and
Graphics for future King Phillip's War Scenario

  • All Dragoons, Rangers,
Partisans, Mountaineers, Backwoods Riflemen, Couriers and Indians
now have the *NoCapture* Attribute, and thus can only
capture Ports, Depots and Native Villages by themselves.

  • Depot build bug fixed. Depots
can be “built up” with Supply or Transport Ships/Bateaux to the
    level defined in 2Depot.str
    (where MaxLevel = 3)

  • Pillagers (Model
Attribute = *Pillage*) now properly raze Settlements and
Stockades. These units will now display the Pillager Ability
    icon.

  • Ships not getting replacements:
    bug fixed.

  • Tidied up” the Element
    Detail window

  • Weather "Coastal" bug
    fixed {Thank you, berto}

  • Weather adjustments made in some
areas. Generally reduced severe weather in Southern Areas.

  • Weather in Regions now described
as either Clear, Rain, Cold, Frozen or Very Cold
    (old
descriptions carried connotations that it was a 30 day Blizzard!)

  • Game Engine updated to latest
    AGE

  • New AI parameter:
aiCTM_ThreatValInFow in AI.opt to help regulate AI
    agressivness

  • New parameters in settings to
regulate Automatic Experience gain: “Excessive Experience Bug”
    fixed.

  • Ammo non-consumption bug fixed.
  • "Scrambled" Battle
    Reports bug fixed.

  • There is now a stack (group)
name memory. Basically when the scenario setup is created the
current name is also stored. This has been done (and is very often
useful) so that the name of a stack doesn't change as soon as you
move a unit out of it, or the reverse. A stack will assume a new
name by merging the stack into another unit or stack.

  • An insidious bug with the
"NotEnemy" script parameter is fixed. (This was part of
the issue with the "Hortelez Supply" arriving in Enemy
    Ports.)

  • Cavalry won't switch posture
when crossing a river, even if 100% hostile MC on other side

  • Bug
Fixed where sometimes a replacement was used from a wrong faction
tag to replace an element in an unit

Script
(event, scenario start) changes

  • 75/76 Campaigns: Revised
logic for various unit and group arrivals to prevent arrival in an
enemy-occupied region (Continental Marines, Hortelez, etc etc)

  • 75 Campaign: Continental
    Marines arrive unfixed now

  • 59 Annus Mirablis COL
    variant
: minor adjustment to event dates for Canada
Reinforcements so they appear in the short scenario as they do in
    Campaign.

  • Added 1689 King William's
    War Scenario
(Thank you Hobbes) {Text is in English only -
    translations needed}

  • Added 1763 Pontiac's War
    Scenario
(Thank you Hobbes) {Text is in English only -
    translations needed}

  • Added
more Leader Biographies, which can be viewed by hovering the
mouse pointer over the large portait in the Element popup display
window (thank you Stephane Parrin, Stewart King, Paul Roberts)
    {More translations needed}

Hi there, thanks for all your hard work, will it be possible to carry on a pbem game started in 1.09?

Before installing the new patch what should be deleted first in the WIA folder. I am using version 107b. and just finished the 75 campaign.
Again thanks for the help.

Just wondering if this patch can be applied over the 1.09 patch or whether I need to do a clean reinstall and update? Thanks to lodilefty and the ageod team for their continuing support of this fine game.

You should be able to just apply the patch to any previously patched game....

...of course, it is always best to uninstall/reinstall just to be certain.

Personally, I only do a "clean sweep" when I encounter a problem withh a new patch. THEN I report a bug if it's still there....

Thanks for all the work on continuing to patch this great game!

I am have this issue on the pick side screen. Any suggestion on how to fix this issue? FWIW the patch was applied to a clean install (Actually the second game installed on a new computer. It's how much I love WIA! :coeurs :) .

Hmm...the issue is linked to the text size. The native Win7 resolution has the desktop set text at 120% normal size. After setting it to 100% or normal size text it works fine. Weird.

Glad you figured this out. Win7 is a powerful game machine, but it functions in a new environment.

My report tonight is this patch has worked wonders. My previous concern with ports not freezing in winter is eased, I have seen ports freeze from New York to Maine.
Additionally, militia rose to capture a town without a British garrison.

All works so well.
Thanks for all the work to make this newest patch function so well.

First of all, hello to everyone.

My initial post and I have problem with new patch.
Just after ending turn, and before day counter starts his job, pop out window appears with communicate: Region adjacency mismatch.
After hitting OK (only option) game crashes to window.

I have tried reinstalation.

Something seems slightly amiss in the way music is getting played.

The intro music mp3 isn't playing when you fire up the game. What plays instead is the first piece of music on the sound list.

I haven't played around with it enough to be able to give an exact description of what's going on, but the music options seem slightly disrupted. When you fire up the game it doesn't seem to respond to the music options (disabled, long, short, no delay), and seems to react to them as either disabled or no delay (not competely sure about that).

I have a feeling that whatever was done on the sound side had some slightly unintended side effects. No intro music is no big deal, but the quirkiness in the response of the music option buttons is a bigger issue.

I only ran a quick rather than exhaustive test, but I did it with unmodded versions of the sound configuration files.

Several questions.
1. Did the game run fine before the patch?
2. What system, vista - Windows 7?
3. Which patch #

My suggestion always, run as an admin. See if this fixes.

Yes, before patch game run normally - version 1.01.
System: Vista.
I have tried two ways, but both with the same result...

1. Base game + patch 1.09.
2. Base game + auto patch 1.06 + patch 1.09.

Maybe it is connected with:

Nice try, but still nothing. Provide serial?

by lodilefty
The error message is a flag that your serial is of "questionable" validity.

Please send email to support@ageod.com that includes your Serial number and some sort of proof of purchase. [if you bought digital copy at AGEOD, your email and forum username should be enough]

Then change the old serial with the new one you got when you bought the game.

I did, but nothing changed.
Somethink is stored in memory even after reinstalation. After new instalation I still see old saved games in game menu, so maybe this fake serial is also stored somewhere and blocking all process. My thoughts.

Did someone know where saved games are stored (different locatin than game folder)?

If you are using Windows Vista/7 64 bits with UAC enabled the saves should be in

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Wars in America\WIA\Saves

The serial is stored in the file General.opt that should be in this folder

Wars in America\WIA\Settings

You can open it with a text editor and add/change the serial, you should see a line like this

Serial number (unencrypted, keep this file for you only)
Serial =
