Terrain graphic errors?

It looks like the area with Dorcester should be clear, but the tooltip says woods. and the area with Worcester should be woods or even forest, but the tooltip say clear. Which is right?

Hmm, can we just fix it ourselves, if someone shows us how to do it?

I was able to make the tooltip read correctly by changing the value for "TerrainType" in the .rgn files. It seems to effect movement correctly but whether or not it addresses all game functions I'm not sure. I think the structures are fine so it's not the cities data that needs the fix.

I attached the 2 revised regions. unzip or copy them into your WIA/Gamedata/Regions folder and overwrite the old ones after you backed them up somewhere.

You can also make the changes to the terraintype variable yourself using a text editor. 0=clear and 6=forest.

simovitch,
Thank you for catching the terrain anomaly and correcting it.
This seems to play fine with the intended costs.

Excellent advice, unless the player enjoys reinstalling the game after making a dumb update.
I own two copies of WiA because I did not realize this advice pre-updating.

Ok, since I tried the rgn fix, I get multiple errors in the scenario I'm playing. The game doesn't crash, but a popup box appears several times. So, I decided to delete the saved scenario and reinstalled version 1.08.

Perhaps the region fix will be in a later patch?

OK, thanks. I hope that Lodilefty (I assume that's who you're talking about) gets better soon. We'll be giving our thoughts and prayers to him.

This graphic anomaly didn't get picked up with the latest round of patchwork - also the thread about the "Congress returns to Philadelphia" message that keeps appearing may have been missed.

Any chance that these could be made "official" fixes?

Got the regions! Will add.

Could you point me to the Congress thread?

I did, and the fixes are in beta patches since August...

If you have an example otherwise from patch 1.08a RC3, please post save here....

Oh OK - I haven't tested for that event yet. Either way I'll try the 1775 campaign and let you know if it is still there.
