Hi

I have a problem with the text of Napoleon campaigns 1.04:

Up-Birth of america text
Down-Napoleon campaings text

I have P4 + ATI RADEON HD 3850+ XP SP2. 96 PPP.

The fonts used in Napoleon are Verdana, but are labelled Verdana (True Type) to ensure Vista compatibility.
You can try using instead the older file:
rename <game path>\NCP\GameData\fonts.ini to something else

rename
<game path>\NCP\GameData\_fonts.ini
to
<game path>\NCP\GameData\fonts.ini

see if it is better. I hope

I rename the files, but no it is not better, the text is similar.

in this case, if boa works, you can use the boa fonts, it should be ok also.

I copy

the folder demoBOA fonts to NCP fonts
the demoBOA GameData\fonts.ini to NCP GameData\fonts.ini

but no change

Halberdier, post (copy and paste) the content of your NCP fonts.ini and so it can be compared, perhaps it is corrupted.

I am using Vista, not XP, but sure there are XP users playing NCP

I use Windows Vista, in my Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\Fonts, there are only these fonts

SmallTypeWriting
Steepidien
Windsong

Do you have BOA and ACW fonts in your NCP fonts folder?

In Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\GameData there is a fonts.ini, copy and paste the content. In my file only these fonts are used

Verdana
Verdana Bold
Small Fonts

Check if they are in your Windows\Fonts folder

Hi NIkel , I put the fons in Windows folder but not solve the problem.

Hola Nikel te escribo en español por si hay dudas. La verdad es que he hecho el copypaste de las fuentes de las demo de BOA y ACW (que se leen bien) a las carpetas de NCP, y ahora de las carpetas de NCP al Windows como me has sugerido. Pero nada. :bonk:

Si ya lo decía arsan...

Lo que te decía es que abrieras el archivo fonts.ini con un editor de texto y que copiaras y pegaras el contenido del archivo, el texto, y que lo postearas aquí, a ver si es igual que el mío o que el de otro que use XP.

En Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\Fonts, yo solo tengo estas fuentes y no hay más archivos

Y en el archivo fonts.ini, que está en Napoleon's Campaigns\NCP\GameData, si lo abres, es complejo, pero las fuentes que aparecen escritas y que deben ser las que usa el programa como dijo Pocus son

Verdana Bold
Small Fonts

Tienes que ver si estas fuentes están en la carpeta Windows\fonts

Yo lo tengo así y funciona bien.

Como último recurso prueba a desinstalarlo, lo instalas de nuevo y aplicas el último parche. Suerte.

you also have to copy the fonts.ini from one game to another. Just copying the actual fonts files won't change them in game, the ini file is there to give instructions to the game: "which fonts should I use"

yes, this is the standard one. Not the alternate one, not the BOA one. You can try using the BOA one also.

Halberdier, por si acaso no entiendes bien a Pocus, dice que el archivo fonts.ini de NCP está bien. Te recomienda que copies fonts.ini de BOA y no solo sus fuentes en las carpetas respectivas de NCP

Sí he copiado del demoBOA los archivos font.ini y *.ttf pero sin resultado.

Quiza sea uno de esos problemas que pasan a veces y a algunos con los ultimos parches. A mi no se me ocurre nada mas, comprobaste si las fuentes verdana y small fonts estan en la carpeta de fuentes de windows?

Si Pocus no te dice nada más prueba a desinstalarlo, instalarlo otra vez y actualizarlo con el último parche, total no se tarda tanto.

I re install the game but nothing.

In the past, when I have NVIDIA CARD Im not have this problem.
