After moving a corps into Hamburg, I found on the next turn that the corps was renamed to 'French Detachment' and the corps name (Bernadotte) was assigned to a fleet of two ships that must have been located in the town. The same thing happened further down the river when another corps took a different city. I'm pretty sure the name reverts back to the rightful owner when it moves from the city.

I can confirm this too. If you seperate the fleet and reattach, seperate the gerneral from his squad and reattach, you get the names correct again.

Since it doesn't affect the game, I never gave it much thought- but it definately occurs.
