One-star can form a corps?

I am about to reorganize the Anglo-Allied army a bit in the 1815 campaign, as it's evidently not in its best possible shape, with lot of command penalties ... or let's say I am just playing around a bit.
Now here comes. The manual says it needs a 2- or 3-star to form a corps. Sure enough, if I try any 1-star, even with a high seniority, the button is greyed out.
However, Decken can form a corps in spite of being a 1-star only. This works whether he is with his "force" or alone, or anywhere else. He is the only 1-star I can find who can do so ... how is that? Thanks.

Most probably (I did not check the DB) he is a two-star but has a wrong one-star symbol. It's a small (graphical) DB error.
Cheers

It's effectively stange for a brigadier-general to be able to reach corps command ( in game terms at least).
Does it belong to King's German Legion ? (although even in this case I don't see why he has the aptitude to form a corps ...)
?

I thought of that for a moment ... but then resolved to hope that the symbol is called up from the DB separately, i.e. according to actual rank / in game function, rather than pinned to the Decken graphics permanently. Otherwise, how could you ever promote someone?

He was an artillery commander with the KGL earlier, but at Waterloo he commanded a Hannoverian body of troops--it may have been called a "corps" but in the more general sense, not as in "army corps".

And with the help of your document, we can see there is no "Gustav" listed, so who is the man modeled into the game if not "Gustav" ?

I don't know where he gets the "Gustav" but this here is the von der Decken who was with the KGL and the Hanoverians at Waterloo ...

Anyway, is this something that ought to be fixed? Fact is, simply making von der Decken a corps commander solves practically all command problems for the AAA in the Belgium scenario, which are otherwise quite severe.

Decken is listed as a 2-star general in the DB but a 1-star symbol is assigned to him. I don't know however if he ought to be a 1-star general or if the symbol is wrong. But I guess one of the scenario designers should know...

He is designed as a 1-star general

So why *can* he form a corps?

Because he is a two star general with a one star symbol assigned to him.
It is a typo in the DB. He is supposed to be a one star general. This will be fixed.
Code: Select all
UID = 2190
NationTag = ENG
Name = $Model_Name_ENG_Decken1
[...]
ImageID = symbol_general_1.png
[...]
LeaderRank = 2

Thanks! Meanwhile, I am invading Northern France with Decken leading Wellington's Reserve Corps just fine. We whipped the Frogs thrice already.
