We have just started the 1805-extended scenario which looks great. One thing do bother me, however. I can't see any French "Home Forces" save the garrisons. When the French player moves east with the historical units of the Grande Armée, is there anything preventing the British from putting 50000 men ashore, marching on Paris? Is there any game function, like inadequate shipping or anything, or do we need some house rules here?

We are missing some info on French home forces, but there were not that many of them... and funny enough, the British never seriously contemplated landing forces in France while the Grande Armée was moving east, may be one reason was the late campaigning season...

West Point Series Atlas gives, on november 25, some 30.000 men under gen. Brune along Channel coast (la Manche) and some 15.000 men under Louis (Bonaparte) in Holland.

In Napo Correspondance, from september to november, many orders are given to various troops (mostly "green", kilitia or foreign units) to reach Channel coast, as well as prussian borders in Germany.

Perhaps in NCP this could be compared with various garrisons strenght, but the actual size of them doesn't match with historical Brune strenght.

Yes, I was aware of Brunes 30000 troops.

Anyway, even if the British didn't land historically, there's no way a player will forego that option unless checked. So there will be some home rules on the matter!
