Hi there Im kinda new to Napoleons Campaigns, I thought I would have a quick look at the 1812 Russian campaign, I started to have a look through the Russian forces, I found an Corps under general Essen at Riga in the north and I found another Corps under the same general Essen in the south in Tighina, I just thought I would report this bug, thanks.

there's also two Hessen-Homburgs (one 2 star, one 1 star) in the 1813 campaign, and two Wittgensteins in the 1814 campaign. (one's hanging out with Schwarzenberg, the other running a corps)

Seems like they must have had rudimentary cloning technology around 1812 to 1813 :niark:

The two Essen's are more or less correct. These are two different generals, but I'm not sure NCP has both in it's database.

Actually there are 4 brothers in or should be in the 1813 scn. Only 3 of those would be in command high enough to be shown in game. All by nature of it are named Hessen-Homburg, tho 1 is Inheditary prince while others are only "prince's".
2 in Austrian service and 2 in Prussian service, 1 died at Leipzig leading his prussian "brigade" as a footnote.

U sure its not different brothers?

2 Bülow's tho, so yes mistakes are in there and the above could be too. Just need to watch out for possibily of the different brothers in this case.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

There is only one portrait of Hessen-Homburg (AUS) in the database.

Maybe they looked alike? :niark:

No, seriously. I dont think from what i've seen that the DB takes into account the cases of multiple leaders with same names.

Prolly cuz in ACW with so many generals with the same surname, u use initials to make them apart.
Napoleon era non French divisonal/corps generals seems lesser known(for some reason :siffle: ) so there arent the same "awareness" that even if named the same they might actually be different ppl. Like the Essen's and Hessen-Homburgs.

Btw DB stat wise. At leased the Hessen-Homburg leading the Austrian corps is different than the Hessen-Homburg leading the prussian bde(Bülows corps), so some where in the DB some difference is made. Should be a Divisional aka 1 star austrian general too apart from the corps commander.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

zu Hessen-Homburg:
I thought it might be two different people, they are of different ranks. However, they share the same portrait and, more tellingly, have the same leader attributes. It's the attributes and ratings that are the issue.
