Auto-Garrison?

In a thread describing new features, Pocus mentioned auto-garrisoning. I can't find it in the manual, or an option in the game. Is this feature activated automatically? Any ideas on how it works?

Does it work at all right now? I haven't seen new garrisons appear yet, be it in "captured" or "liberated" places.

which scenario? You have to keep a significant amount (10+) replacements in your pool so to have garrisons pop up.

Is eligible a fortress, depot or level 10+ city where you keep a line infantry, have 100 supply at least and 75% MC.

This is done so we are sure a garrison just don't pop up after a simple raid but is relieving a combat troop.

Hi Pocus,

I'll check next time, I couldn't find the criteria in the rules so wanted to check if it was working.

One more question, will it work for all nations as long as the infantry is designated line?

If the scenario scripters added the command yes. Any line (Bavarian eg) can help set a garrison (even a Wurtemberg one for the French empire)

This is way too complicated for a game that tries to avoid micromanagement. Why not an option where we say how many militia are left behind in a city after a capture and the militia must be drawn from the reinforcement pool?

Evidently, after four scenarios and 10 hours of play, I haven't met the condition for a single auto-garrison. Not much of a feature if the condition is almost impossible. Need to get rid of the micromanagement, perhaps even a game option that 1-3 infantry are removed from your force when they depart the city (automatically).

I asked about this in another thread, I´ve played Waterloo and Austerlitz a few times and as far as I can tell no garrison appeared...

Regarding the implementation, when I read about it I thought of a button that when pressed would drew men from inf. brigs. and/or art. bats. in the region and form a sort of detachment...

I agree that raiding cavalry shouldn´t be allowed to do it in any form, it would probably lead to exploits, especially against the AI.
