10 questions for the wise men

I am thinking about preordering the game, but I am still unsure about how the game is going to differ from AACW. So I have posted a few questions below, which I hope someone can answer.
1. Which are the playable factions in the various campaigns?
2. I have read that it does not have the same strategic depth as AACW, but what does this mean? Are there no diplomatic, financial and drafting options?
3. Is the turns still half a month in the campaigns?
4. Are there any transport investments, or any replacement for the industrialization investment in AACW?
5. Is the command chain (Army, Corps, Divisions, Brigades) the same as in AACW?
6. Is there an option to let the battle animation proceeding slower than in AACW? I think the slowest setting still went way to fast in that game.
7. Like many others I think that raids could be very annoying in AACW. Will it be the same in NC?
8. Can you build forts, and do they work in the same way as in AACW?
9. How big is the manual going to be?
10. What were the best cannon of that age? I do like armies filled with a lot of big guns
