How do you mod the .str files like for the structures fort and depot. I've tried it, but can't save the file once it is opened in notebook.

So you can't do it with Vista?

Sure you can, but you need to be able to write to the files, not just read them. Not sure exactly how to grant or gain such access in Vista since I'm using XP myself.

Ah, okay. I googled .str files, but haven't found anything yet. I'm sure someone in the forum plays and mods while using Vista though.

Nah, that won't work; .str are pretty AGEOD-specific. This should be of better help: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/howdoi/?p=105 :)

I think i figured it out. I had to go into properties and tick the allow "write" box. Now it is saved. Thanks for the link though. I'm sure it will help with other things I might want to try.
