Seriously, what the heck?!
Germanic Western Emperors?!
And his successor was such too. I forgot to take a screenshot.

Is it wad?
Or did I miss some events/rebellion/whatever? I'm only playing church, so I did not followed very seriously what was going on...

Why are you playing in French? ;)
Should be German .... :mdr:

Seriously, this is weird

And let me introduce you Emperor Widephus!

I suspect something has changed the ethnic/national group of WRE, so that now it's german... extremely weird!

Can you post here a zipped savegame? ;)

I googled those names and they are a match with some Thuringians chiefs in the 4th century! Something definitely messed up.

I will upload the saved game tonight. :)

Time for the saved game!

I examined the save: the ethnic group is ok (latin), but the king comes from FRA... weird! I believe some event or happening took place, caused a major change in the rulers of WRE! :w00t:

I begun the first new game since a long time with patch 107C - Green player (Alamans, Jutes, Saxons, Suèves) with standard historic options.

And after a decade or two, I also had the chance to meet Emperor Merwig. :niark:

Do you want a screenshot or a savegame ?
I wouldn't think of a bug if I had not read this topic... :neener:

EDIT : Savegame here. :)

Mmmhh... so it means there's a historical event that is wrongly targeted to all nations?

So, is there any way to fix this?
Will it impair my current game? I started an AAR on french boards, so I would like to know, even if it is currently paused due to IRL works.

Oh, and the date of confusion is somewhat around 362, at the time of Julian.

I have to find what's the event exactly...

Aaaaaaaaaaall Right.
Something definitely broken with monarchs.

Here Eastern Emperor in 395.
Isn't he supposed to be dead since thirty years?! :bonk: He just succeded Constantinius II.
And still Frankish/Germanic western emperors. :w00t:

Yes, Julianus died (historically) in 363 AD, but in this game the death date is calculated randomly, not historically... It means you've been lucky... ;)

So, this loooooong reign of Constantinius II, and being succeeded by Julian was WAD?

And any hints about my german Emperors? ;)

Examine the GILeaders.csv file: Julianus is the successor of Constantinus.
It means you had a very long reign of Constantinus II, so Julinus succeeded him considerably later.

No hints yet, sorry. I've been very busy working on WW1... :(

I do not know if related or not but in my current 350 grand campaign as Alamani, in the diplomatic menu I deal with Emperor Nepotianus (WRE) while one of my provinces is being attacked by an army led by Emperor Julianus (also WRE). Both are identified as rulers  (Right now unable to post screenies or saved game, but I may be able to do it later).
No big deal, though

Right then, I didn't know monarchs' deaths were random, unless it happens on the battlefield. :)
I thought my German Emperors just f....ed the whole monarchs thing of the game.

No, problem, perfectly understandable. Especially since GI is an old game and isn't supposed to be supported yet, I guess.
And the better WW1, the best it will be when I have a computer able to run it smoothly!

Oh my Gods!
Nice one!

I guess Vache comes from Persian files. Something messed up with Western Empire.
