Hello,

I bought a copy of GI directly from Ageod a couple of days ago. The downloaded install program seems to work correctly. The 1.07c patch also installs correctly. I than extracted the official 1.07c mod (into the main GI folder). I entered the correct serial in setup....

When I try to start the game, all I get is a black screen and have to exit after some time via the taskmanager...

This is using a 4 year or so old Dell desktop computer. Pentium 4 3.2 GHz processor, 2046 MB RAM, DirectX 9.0c, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 256 MB Memory, etc.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Haven't tried to run the game unpatched, or without official mod yet...

Forgot to say the desktop is running XP...

Perhaps it is the intro video

Is it solved clicking escape?

Alternatively in the setup you can turn off the logo

Had tried the escape key before and tried turning off the logo no, neither improved matters...

Just updated my video drivers but that didn't fix the problem. Now I also get an error message and CTD (maybe would also have gotten that before if I'd waited a bit longer before using the task manager)...

Well the game is starting correctly now. Can't really say why as I didn't change anything as far as I can tell...
