Deep South, South East

Hello All,

I recently bought AACW. I think it is a great game. Many thanks to the designer and team that created this game.

I have been cruising the forum for the last several weeks and only recently joined. I discovered what I believe to be a bug with the map and would like to share it. Please forgive me if it has already been pointed out (I searched the forum for a thread on it and could not find one) or if it is WAD.

The Deep South and South East region names seem to be switched. This is on the tool tip display and on the objective screen. Living in Virginia we refer to Alabama and Mississippi as the Deep South. Sahvannah, Charleston, would be considered the South East. Perhaps the rest of the world sees it differently. Is this a bug or WAD?

Growing up in Georgia and Alabama, I always understood that the "Deep South" comprised Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and (by accident of geography) Florida. All else below the Mason-Dixon line was simply part of the larger "South."

I understand that we all have our differences as to what constitutes a particular region.

I also understand that each game can call each region something different. An example would be Victory Games - American Civil War. It divided the game map into 4 regions. They where from east to west - The East, The West, TransMississippi, and The Far West. The regions made sense in game terms but not necessarily in the way the typical American would view the regions.
East and West referred to the regions east of the Mississippi, East was the east of the Blue Ridge and West was west of the Blue Ridge.

In AACW calling the Carolinas, Georgia, and Floridia doesn't seem correct in game terms or as to geography. I do see that a case could be made for each though.

The real problem when added to the first is that Tennesse, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi is called the Southeast. Southeast seems more like the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida in both game terms and geography.

I am not trying to say this is a major problem. It does seem incorrect enough that I do feel it was an unintentional mistake and not something done by design.
