I'm wondering, mightn't there be a mix up with this general? According to the US Civil War Generals website Charles Sidney Winder was promoted to brigadier general in march 1862, the one in game appears with the first promotion of brigadier generals in 1861. On the other hand the US Civil War Generals website gives a John Henry Winder made brigadier general in June 1861.

You are correct.....Winder would probably be a better fit to show up in the January 1862 batch of generals.

According to my sources, C.S. Winder date of rank is 7 March 1862.

Of course, he was killed in action on 9 August 1862, so...
