Saved Game Name

When I save a game with a new name and attempt to enter a number - for example "My Save 1" - the corresponding map filter is applied. Not a major issue, but it wseems like a bug nevertheless.

I can't save at all with a new name. It doesn't appear in the load game list.
In the save folder I can find it but all folders with new names are empty.
It is a bit scary to have only one save of each campaign.
Hope the above is understandable. Unsure of how to use terminology like folders, directory and such in english. Mix them up all the time. :tournepas

I rechecked and it works on my side... so it is rather weird.

What I did:

I create the Bull Run Scenario.
In game, i ctrl-click on the save button and type 'bbb'

on my disk I have 2 games, Bull Run and bbb. Both have 3 files in it, correctly named.

Then I revert to the main menu, open the Load Screen, pass the mouse over the Bull Run line, strike <Insert>, and rename it 'aaa'.

On my disk I have 2 folders, one is 'aaa' and one is 'bbb'. Both have 3 files, each correctly named.

Can you tell me where it goes wrong when you do that Hidde?

I'm not sure I fully understand or that I can explain but I'll try.
Ok, two games, Bull Run and bbb. I get that also. But, BR have 4 files in my case. One HST, one ORD and two TRN files whatever this means. My "bbb" folder are empty. In the Load Screen only BR are there. No sign of bbb.
As to renaming, I'm not sure I follow. I dare not rename the only save I have.
I just saw that there are backups but I only find them when I look in the save directory on my harddrive. How do I do if I need to use a save older than the one before the last?
This is rather confusing to me

mmmh yes 4 files, not 3 because you saved and thus the ORD file is created. The problem I see is that in your case when you do a save under, the system don't create the files, only the directory... eeerk. Are others having the same problem? Is my computer the sole working as intended?

To take the previous turn, you have to hit 'Home', as explained in the tooltip when you pass the mouse over the saved game line, try that on a test game, it should works :)

Yes, the previous turn, I have done that once. But if I want to load an even earlier save?
PS. Please take a look at my "black screen" thread later. I'll write there next. It have taken a turn for the worse, belive it or not :p leure:
Sorry for all the trouble.

I have seen the same issue.
......
But now upon further examination, I have found the previous saves under a sub directory of the the named directory. i.e. NewGame1\Backup01\

The game doesn't see it in the load game menui but it is there. I copied the files from the "backup" directory into the directory and then was able to load the game.

Just to confirm as I don't understand why it fails on some computers. When you do a 'save under', a new folder with the name you entered is created, but there is no files in it?

I have the same issue. Empty folders, properly named, but no contents.

XP SP2 here.
