As I am chasing my PBEM opponent...(Washington running into the wilds of New England towards Fort Western[?]...[I have taken New York city...Boston...Albany...Philadelphia...marching to Baltimore and beyond and all of Georgia is now in my control besides South Carolina] I thought of something. I have a mass of Indians going into Northern Pennsylvania on raids hitting the American settlements. I am wondering if there is some sort of penalty that the British player suffers in the use of his Indian allies. If there isn't maybe there should be...the chance that more militia can automatically be called out in reaction (anger) of the Indians being used by the British. Sorry , if this has been brought up before...or there is something already in the game.

Let's not suggest changes because we think "maybe there should be." I would like BoA to remain in its historically real context, not turn into an attempt at an "18th Century Wargame Construction Kit."

I don't mean to pick on you, Fouche, but there has been what I consider an alarming trend toward "I'd like to see what if" and "this was stupid historically, let's change it in the game" in the posts of late (see the separate discussion concerning how worthless Louisbourg is and what ought to be done about it in order to improve the French situation). I say that you take the cards you are dealt by the scenario or campaign and see what you can do with them vis-a-vis the victory conditions (which should be designed to present you with the same problem your historical counterpart faced - and I think BoA already does this quite well).

In any event, the biggest problem with calling out more militia is that there were only a few non-indigenous people in those regions to begin with, and many - if not most - of them were Torys. Fielding any rebellion forces at all was a major challenge and a serious draw on the manpower needed to tend the farms and settlements - and, for that matter, to defend them against the forays of small bands and even individual braves not organized into full war parties.

I really can't think of a better reason to comment on something or suggest a change than 'because I think there should be...."

It's the developer's job to to sift through the information and decide what's relevant, what's doable and what should just be ignored. Asking someone not to post an idea because it doesn't meet your 'vision' seems kinda silly.

Mr. Pasternakski is very passionate about "vocal minority" changes as the WITP forum can attest. But he has the same goal and interests as all of us... Maximizing and enjoying our gaming experience and we all found a good place to do that with AGEOD.

I see no problem with gamers offering opinions and suggestions about gameplay; as Frank stated, it is the Developer's task to decide whether to heed such advice and suggestions and determine whether it would be possible or desireable. I would guess that most game developers would welcome such comments; if not, they always have the option to simply ignore it all. I believe most games can be improved by gamer's suggestions and interaction the Devs. As long as this two-way communication remains constructive, it can only be a positive thing. I certainly have seen no trolling or trashing on this forum. As a matter of fact, I have seen several suggestions from the boards that have been implemented and appreciated by the Devs.
