Effect of experience on leaders?

Can anyone tell me what effect experience (stars) has on leaders?

Experience improves the leaders stats (Strat, Off, Def) and also the levels of their abilities

Thanks Phil, one other question :-
If a structure has been breached (red icon) I think I have read that the structure no longer gives any defensive benefit - is this the case?
If so when a breached structure is assaulted is there still a limited front to the assault? i.e. only so many men can be involved in combat? This
would seem correct although I think a structure should always give some defensive benefit even if totally breached.

Yes, you are right. Frontage is not alterred by the breach, it is still limited. What is changed is the penalty the assaulting side suffers: it is almost nill when the structure is breached...
