I'm thinking of trying Windows Vista beta 2, but want to be sure it will run BOA. Anyone tried it?

It doesn't work, the game wont even install. The loading program gives a messag unable to initialise.

surprising, the installer is a very well known (and reliable) win32 application called Inno Setup (http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php). It talks about how Vista is far from being stable yet...

Apologies it does install, it was the game that wouldnt initialise. Since this post has raised a bit of interest I am going to reinstall and try it again.
After installing I patched it to 1.07 and ran the game, immediately the desktop changed to 640x460 and 256 colours, no sign of the game running at this point. I then went into the game icon properties and changed the run properties not to use 640x480 and 256 colours these must of been set during the installation. When I ran the game again the only screen I saw was a pop up box on the desktop saying something like 'the serial number length is not the same as the serial number on your validation card'. Unfortunately I never saw the screen allowing me to enter a serial number.
At this point I had to give up. I have got to admit from my limited experience with Vista Beta and games, the backwards compatability is terrible, the only game I have got working properly is CIV IV.

P.S I just tried it with 1.08a and it still has the problem mentioned above.

switching to 640x480 is rather weird, and is absolutly not requested by the installer (that just manipulate and copy files and don't set any video parameters). Definitively a Vista erroenous assumption then (an app with directX? I should switch to 640x480).

As for the serial request, you can circumvent the vista problem by running AGESettings, in the game directory.

But I guess the directX initialization will fail anyway, Vista does not seems finished when it comes to DirectX handling.
