I am in turn 12 of my first PBEM full war (April 1861) campaign of AACW. I am addicted. I can't wait to open the move when I get it. I let all my other PBEM opponents wait. I think about recruitment, mobilization, blockades, building corps, appointing generals and marching into Kentucky by day and by night. I am reading books on the ACW again, "How the North won" obviously being my favorite right now.

I find myself whistling the background tunes on my way to work. I'll probably soon start dreaming of the Civil War. There's only three things I really regret ...
1. That I didn't play a campaign when the game came out a year ago. I did FBR, Shiloh from both sides, and then decided I didn't have the time for a full campaign. I missed one year of fun!
2. That the day has not 26 hours, so that I can spend two on an AACW move and still have time for my other PBEMs.
3. That I can never ever play the campaign again
for the first time and experience every detail as if it would just happen, like real history.
Truly, what a wonderful game.
