USD => EURO...painful

Sun Jan 13, 2008 1:18 pm

Zonkers......I have had to hold off on buying the game because my old computer wasn't up to running it.......but now with the sinking value of the dollar....the game cost $59.15. :8o: That hurts. Another bummer is that after a game has been out a while it will usually drop in price, but.......I'll stop my whining, the same games that drop in price over time are the games that aren't improved once they head out the door.

Thanks for a what looks like a great game, and the continued improvements. I guess, I'll have to save my pennies a little longer.....and see what it cost if I can see it on the shelves when I visit America.

I've enjoyed lurking and reading the AARs...especially Jaggers and Killcav's....and the now defunct Grand Camp.

The game will be released on the US market on retail (i.e. in shops) by end of January, so you should be able to get it at a better price...

Currently, the price is 39.99 Euros, but you Americans pay only 33.43 because you do not pay the 19.6% French VAT...at the present rate of exchange, it ends up slightly under 50$ :cwboy:

If you like the Civil war, it's worth the money.

And if you think that some of us are not paid in US dollars but in pesos...then you might realize your situation is not that bad...I wish there was a big enough market in Latin America for a company to publish it here at a more affordable price...they usually only publish games like FIFA 08 :p leure:

I can attest to the validity of Phil's statement, because I just bought it direct from AGEOD's online store the other day for about $50 and I live in the USA.

I found out about the VAT exemption savings for USA purchasers by buying BOA on the cheap from AGEOD. I liked BOA so much that I bought AACW from them too with no regrets. :) Great games you guys! :hat:

Lonster, if you are a fan of AGEOD's games, I recommend purchasing the game direct from them because they end up with a greater profit margin than when you buy the retail, and it is about the same price. Plus, you get to play sooner. :D

This company publishes games from EA and Ubisoft, they have been around for many years now...sadly, the don´t have an english website...wich I find somewhat odd...but contact information is under the "contacto" link...

http://www.microbyte.com.ar/

I have no affiliation with them...other than living in the same city

I paid $60 for Carriers at War and that was money terribly spent.

As painful as it would be for $60 for AACW, it is well worth it. Not sure I am helping or not...

AACW is one game you will NOT regret buying. Well, you might, but only if you dislike deep, historical games filled with excitement and strategic challenges. :p ouet:
