New game, already (same?) old engine?

Fri Jul 12, 2019 1:45 am

Some says this game has no ingame scaling options about the texts (no scaling UI), like if everydody would play the same monitor than devs'.
We must do like 10 years ago: open text files, compute new size of fonts, write those in file, then downgrade resolution so the new fonts to keep fitting their boxes, repeat several boring tests until the result is good (but can't be perfect).
Why not, if the game is so good, but this unscaling is disappointing, I couldn't imagine it to be the already bad system, which could make Ageod games very badly rated just for this already many years ago.
I believed Slitherine would help Ageod or ask better quality about this.

ERISSS I am surprised at this comment from you as I always admire your insights; however, this time you have it so wrong. This game engine is so new it still squeaks. I promise.
Really!! It is totally new from the ground up.
I wonder why you say this? Have you, perhaps, not played the game and are just repeating gossip?? I have seen some posts which kind of disparage the game based upon many untruths. This game engine is a new and exciting venture.

Yes, I've seen already 3 threads about those same old flaws.
(I'm waiting for buying, as I wonder why Slitherine put a +33% tax on GOG customers, and not on Steam;
I would even pay the GOG price at Slitherine store, if it were sold same price everywhere)

About the price difference, I have been told that it has nothing to do with Slitherine but comes from weird conversion ratios on the selling site(s)

It's still not 25.49€ at GOG, it do is at Steam (and Slitherine)
when we already have Field of Glory II (I do have it at GOG; I tested it but don't play it).

25.49€ still to expensive in Turkish Lira. ;) 164,57 TL.

Steam price only cost 61 TL=9,46 € .

I like steam more. :)

And just to point out, that's a new engine with all gameplay and AI reconstructed from zero. The rendering/display is done in Archon, the in-house Slitherine engine.

Took us 3 years full time to rebuild this 'new AGE' ...
