Few tidbits that coudl still be improved

There are still some loose ends that could be tied together, I just figured I'd point some that I have seen up to now in my latest game started under the April 11th patch (btw thanks for the big data improvement for troop names, it's awesome !) :
- As the french The Neuchatel regiments can now be recruited in Besançon, but the swiss ones just can't be recruited...
- When the HRE is dissolved and the RHC created early 1806, the RHC is neutral which means that french can't pass throught it, etc... Makes no sense.
- The expeditionary force system still needs work or to be circumvented for quasi-vassals : leave it as a tool for multiplayer for example, but otherwise just give F4 decisions to get the equivalent from vassals : every so and so the french player would get cards giving him access for some EPs or money or VPs or what to some troops from its vassals/minions (KOI, Holland, Switzerland, RHC, Westphalia, Poland, etc...). The current system really is just cumbersome and doesn't work.
- The supply situation is still very tricky re flow and production within allies / neutrals / recently defeated ennemies.
- The AI still has weird warmongering issues : in the 2 games I started since the latest patch each time the Austrians have DOWed me fairly quickly after Pressburg. Why ? Did I stay there too long (in which case this needs fixing) ? Was there something making the peace conditions obsolete very quickly ?

The thing about passing through neutrals could be circumnavigated (and maybe the strange supply system) via the Diplomacy screen and requesting troop access rights, the more I think about it. Perhaps, as with you and Austria and myself and Prussia we need to ask for access rights via diplomacy. But still, it is not clear whatever.

Thing is they will say no. Those should come with the natural victory conditions in a peace treaty : give 48 turns passage and supply rights, but the engine should change so that supply rights mean supply passage not just use of local supply.

BTW. Maybe an improved AI Spanish reaction to the French invasion would be nice. Right now, their whole army seems to go on a suicide run through Burgos, Madrid and Zaragoza. There seem to be no formation of an army whatsoever - though admittedly this behaviour is very similar to all other AI nations up to a point. Is it possible to have it concentrate its forces a bit before pressing the attack?

Remove the depots and coastal artillery from the list totally? They should be built on location?

Make the code check for ratio of infantry, cavalry, artillery and supply trains for forces? Or does it?

I've tried the ratio setting in my mod. I placed arty in the 10% range. Infantry in the 50% and horses the remainder. Yet, I'm still seeing lots and lots of arty. I believe that the AI will still buy arty because it's the cheapest and all it can afford. The production in base game is once every 4 turns, so the AI doesn't have that much, especially conscripts which is the biggest hitter for building infantry.

Or, the AI feels a sense of responsibility for the loss during the great migration and wants to help perpetuate the species.

What does the coefficient value do?

It places a priority on AI building. Tells the AI to build out X percentages of units from force pool. So actually my numbers above or wrong.

The value seems to change, different values in the same log for different factions, so how does that work?

another very annoying thing : sudden white peace..

Am in end of january 1807, at war with Prussia (they attacked Bavaria, so I had to....) and Austria (they attacked me again so bugger it, going for them) and so with Saxony as well. Mind you it's now deep winter so I am staying tight in cities and stuff having basically occupied all the west side of the Elbe river and just spending the winter at Mageburg, Hamburg and western Saxony. Now I am not dumb and because of the stupidity of the "Saxony switches side" event turning it entirely neutral and in previous version actually expelling my troops, I am clever enough to leave Leipzig and Dresden free so as not to fire the event and keep all my nice depots builts in Saxony to help campaign in Prussia in the spring.. What happens ? a White peace event shoots with Saxony because we haven't had a battle in a long while... Whereas I am occupying half their land... The frustration levels are high...

Really I wonder what the Devs are doing about this game now. I bought it when it came out, almost 5 months ago, and there are still egregious issues of LOGIC in how it works. It's really uber frustrating, I want to love this game so much but god what a mess.

The last playthrough of the base game, Saxony declared independence and became neutral when I took Leipzig and Dresden. I think it messed up my supply problems after Tislit when I became 'trapped' rebuilding my forces in Poland. I am back to vicburgs mod now however - but I still have the save when I am about to become starved in Warsaw...AGAIN. Great game and much could be done with it - it needs more in-depth AI fixes, and I think it is possible. I hope it is not 'abandoned'. If it goes onto Steam in its current state - well I will cringe at the comments.

Actually I think that the Saxon event should be changed a bit. Saxony essentially switched sides and became a French satellite. However, in the game, it remains allied with Prussia, declaring war in tandem with Prussia, whenever the latter decides to.

Also there is a need that powers like Prussia and Austria stop declaring war other states of any size when their forces have just been shattered in war. A period of reconstruction should follow each round of war. Its ridiculous how small the Austrian and Prussian armies remain after each drubbing, and yet they declare war on France and each other like there was no tomorrow....

honestly the game just can't handle the whole multi nations / alliances / diplomacy dynamic. I mean it's doing thousands time worse than what EUII could do 15 years ago.... The fact that one has to "supply depot spam" to keep his armies supplied, NEVER sign peace nor create some satellites like Westphalia in case this suddenly starves his army to death is just bonkers. I so want to enjoy like I did AACW and even CW2 but really it's hard..

Its very difficult for the AI to have multiple nations doing their thing all at once. Like PON, the AI has a lot on its plate to do everything right and it is slowing it down considerably (sometimes even 15 minute long AI turns). So maybe if the Confederation of the Rhine and Westphalia are there, these should essentially eclipse the smaller states or kind of 'freeze' them in place, putting their resources at the disposal of the French. (Indeed there is a nod to such an approach when the Rhine Confederation Regiments card comes into play, there are three regiments from Nassau, Saxony and Rhineland.) Once they are reconquered by the Allies, then they become free again. Historically, even the Bavarians and the Saxons who were the most powerful and independent of the minor states, essentially towed the French line without so much of a murmur until the battle of Leipzig. I'm also surprised by the fact that the annexation of Holland for example, only gives you the resources they have on the map and no chance to recruit Dutch units.

BTW I solved the supply issue, especially for the Prussian campaign by simply going 'slow' and crushing the enemy forces on the frontiers. Basically, after the battle for the frontiers its a mop up operation by two strong corps (five division strong each) under the best generals possibly those with the 'forager' attribute. Such corps are more than capable of crushing any resistance on their own even if operating alone and they can be maintained for a long time even in East Prussia and Poland.

Hurray !! for the first time ever, after probably 600 to 700 turns of play, a country outside of Bavaria lent me some forces !!! Both Baden and Wurtemberg sent me expeditionnary forces in march 1807 that I can intregrate in my forces. The Baden force is just 2 regiments (6 elements) but the Wurttemberg one is about 1 div of cavalry and one smallish infantry div with 2 leaders !

Great. Sure Holland and the KOI keep on refusing and I still can't recruit the swiss brigades because of the lack of recruiting city and I still don't understand why there aren't more recruitable italian brigades, but hey, I wanted to point this out !

I too have been lent troops by Württemberg, but I've tried selecting and moving all of their forces, but to no avail. How are they differentiated from their countrymen?

you get a message in the "troop message" dialogue box (the one with the soldiers symbol after the movement one) that says "Wurtemberg lent you Huger Force in Ulm" and this gives you the stack name that was lent to you, you can move it at will AND as I discovered very recently, you can integrate those troops your own builds (if you use your german compatible leaders for example).
