I notice that for me, the game seems to get "stuck in a rut", and plays the same 5 or 6 music selections over and over. I am not sure if it was my computer (which recently decided to die), or my game, or me.

No it is not!
I have the same issue.
It happens most of the time, but not always.

Yeah, I figured it was only about 10 songs total. You could always get the list and build a youtube play list. ;)

This, 90 songs?, is good news. I thought that there were only 5 or 6 songs, haven't heard more than that. This should be fixed as soon as possible.

I'll check why only a sub sample of the numerous musics we have are played, thanks.

I love the music, but unfortunately it ruins the immersion factor for me when I'm playing as GERMANY and I start hearing those damn Scottish Bag Pipes playing!! UGHHH

Hahaha I know that feeling :cursing: !! (psst don't let Altaris hear about it though! :rolleyes :)

I really love the songs, but I wish we had more german sang songs, like Die Wacht am Rhein, Gloria Viktoria (the version with vocals) and so on. But I'm very happy with the songs we already have. :)

I can't say I reproduce the issue. Are you sure this is not because some musics are close to others in their composition? Shifting to a new music every 10 seconds, I got a very large sample of 30+ songs during my test.

The music is good, but I get a bit tired of it already. Past 1914 it is much too happy and cheerful, and the marches are kind of embarassingly naive. In the long run I want to hear something ominous and dark, or just ambient WW1 battlefield sounds. Anybody in for a music mod?

Look what I found:
Configurable WW1 ambient sound.
A great sound to run in the background:

I purchased a album of 30 or so German Marches on I tunes for $8 and play that in the background instead of the game music...

You can mod them in the folder to have even more titles, without an external player.

I get only a few songs, but I seem to get this with most AGEOD games - e.g. just tried NCP and get about 2 but I see in the file list there should be over 20. Is this something in my PC? But then I've noticed it on several different PCs over the years.

Ok I've played and listened:

EAW played 16 tunes:

Kadettmarche 5
Cuirassieurs 4
Emperor 3

CW2 16 tunes:

Battle Hymn of Rep 4
Road to Boston 4
Marching Through Geoorgia 3

AACW 1.06d

Lisa Jane 6 (last 4 no sound came out)
Gary Owen 3

AACW 1.17d

All varied

So, was something in the music picker changed to make it work in the later AACW patches that may not have made it over to the newer games?

A bit more testing:

My AJE ends up playing AJE_Ambience01 continuously

My RUS ends up playing 18_Katyusha continuously

My record is stuck, stuck, stuck, stuck, stuck......

But ROP Gold seemed to vary the music.

Well continuing, my Espana just plays Main Theme and SCW_003 with occasionally SCW_004

But searching the forum while listening to repetitive music I found this from 2011:

Pocus: "We know of this issue... the random pick of a song, is for a reason unknown to us, weird... It should come from the random number generator, itself derived from Windows O/S, but ... yeah, weird sequencing. This bother me too, honestly."

Hmmm....

I just listen to Ottoman Mehters (or other relevant music to whomever I'm playing) off Youtube while I play. No need to buy of ITunes or anything. :)

The RNG has been changed since this time and I tested myself on CW2, music varies now.

When you say the RNG has been changed is that an AGEOD change or a Microsoft change?

What I'm finding strange is that music variation works on some games not on others.

Come to think of it I had the issue too with WW1G.

If it were only on one PC I would think it something wrong in my settings, but as you can see others have it too. It's not quite the end of the world, it just seems annoying that someone made a wide selection of music and yet some of us only get a narrow selection.

I'll go and play some non AGEOD games for a bit and see if there's a similar issue.

No it's custom to Ageod

Sorry for a bump, but I have the same problem. Is there any fix? I'm getting tired of hearing ~10 tracks all the time.

A simple way is to disable the music in the game options.

Then enqueue and play the mp3 files included in the game, or whatever music you want to hear.
