Would you consider the expansion as need to have or nice to have for a new player?

I'm wondering if it would be better to start with the base game and then buy the expansion along the road if I the game is something I want to play even more?

Unlike some other game developers, game features of the original title are constantly updated and are not restricted to expansions only. So, the answer is you can buy the original title, and once you are finished with the scenarios available there, you can try the expansion scenarios as well.

I decided to buy the full package from Steam since there were some discount. Now off to learn the game and more about the CW.
