Also, I'm told the horses don't like to work when it gets dark.

Strange defeat

Mon Mar 11, 2013 3:17 pm

Even though Russian forces inflicted a significantly higer number of hits, they are considered as the losing side.

Even more strangely, Adm. Krabbe was congratulated (!) for the battle. :bonk:

Your fleet might have retreated once my junks closed into range, considering I was attacking with much more vessels (19 Russian versus 70 Chinese ships).

Your fleet decided to retreat (for what ever reason, probably worried about being boarded), however, as you inflicted so many more casualties, your admiral did a great job, and thus gets congratulated (it happens all the time - congrats while losing, and winning but being reprimanded for too many casualties taken).

Hmm....I've been reading Civil War books recently....the side that Retreats is considered the Loser, whether they really were or not.....Old Style.....leave the field, you are looked down on.

To those who process turns - have there been any changes in the last dozen turns in the game files being used to process turns?

I am finding production shown in the B and F4 displays and on the map not showing up in the stockpile - maybe it is not being transmitted any longer?

BTW when does Daylight Savings Time kick in in Europe?

20 March, but most likely it will be applied on 23 (being a Saturday).

I haven't noticed any problems, but will pay attention now. Also, no changes since Pocus' ship fix, which needs to be fixed again.

I think depots are destroyed with the special "military" command, in the same panel to destroy railways, have you tried that?

Btw, guys, lovely to see Japan menacing even in WW2 (no sh*t), we have tons of fun with Spinoza and we even risk losing the campaign as the Axis has become too strong.

It is currently under construction. I could not destroy it when I decided to build it somewhere else instead, so it goes forward. Maybe after it is completed you can destroy it then, unless of course, I have reclaimed the province.

No, it's just that gf was not at home (streaming TV, talking to her friends or mum over Skype, playing around with huge files). Life is hard when you live with a computer scientist. Don't tell her! :p

I realized it's been a while since the last one, and it took me forever to get to it this week (thanks electrical engineering).

Anyway, enjoy!!

Great map, coolio! :)

Is it difficult to make? If we had one every 1-2 years we could make a time-lapse presentation of border changes. Anyway, manually I can see the almost complete ousting of Britain from West and East Africa as well as Kashmir as well as the exploration progress in New Guinea.

Thanks! No, it's not too difficult. I use the Victoria II province map, it already has borders that match almost perfectly with any possible historical border. The only hard one is the template I make for the first map, it is just a lot of time in paint making borders match defined areas, but then it is very easy to update it.

Good to know. If you are able to hit us with such a map with a 1-year cadence it would be ideal to make the presentation of the map. Guys, the game is gonna be really interesting now as we are reaching 1880 where in real life the real colonial hunt was just beginning. On the other hand we will have more or less skirmishes or wars over established borders. Who will prevail?! :)

I can do that with no problem, the problem is just remembering to do it... :D

I know I've asked before... but would there be anyone who happened to have saved the old files on their comp? If someone posted the Jan. files from every year I could go back and make a map for the previous years.
