Thanks Pocus.
I dont think this will be a game o large periods of time. I could be something like WIA, AACW, RUS... jus a couple of years, with movements per turns of 15 days. Nothing about Romans.Ageod likes the civil wars, AACW and RUS are both civil wars, it could be the spanish civil war but this is not interesting for developers (i dont know why), Paradox is developing the war of the Roses. The Roman civil wars... i think no. But i think that is about a european war.

Philippe talk about scenarios of three players.
RUS and AACW are both civil wars, WIA is pretty similar to a civil war. Napo campaings and RoP are games developed using easily this same engine because it works fine with this kind of wars all very similar. Just RUS is a bit more modern war but still similar to AACW.
So for AGEOD will be easy to develop using the same engine a game of this characteristics.

I cant stop thinking in the Boers Wars.

Is similar in everything, its interesting for us and we have never had a good game of this war.

btw i wanna be in the beta team ;) i was in the beta team of PoN testing some scenaries.

"I cant stop thinking in the Boers Wars."

No it will not be a game on a limited scope as the Boer War, remember post 1 by Philthib, it will be a game on a huge amount of time.
Perhaps something from Antiquity to XVIII century or perhaps from Antiquity to 1453 and the taking of Constantinople.
Some players think that it will be a Roman game thus from Republic to Byzance and perhaps some Greek wars like the Peloponnesian war.

To be honest, i already know one scenario because i received a message by error by mail while working on the Austrian War of Succession  nevertheless i wait to see the scale of the game and what the limit of the map are West to East, North to South and a confirmation of the time covered...

I hope that there will be an announcement soon, hopefully soon. Normally end March.

Another anxiously awaiting news. Good luck to the development team.

Roman historic game would be great - so would the world of Japanese civil wars and consolidation of the Shogunate. I have the Paradox game Senguko, which has more of the Character driven game play but not so much the operational warfare aspects. Roman based game would be the safest bet.

No, not another Japanese wargame. We have Total War Shogun 2 and Sengoku for that, both still are in active development. So no, no, give me goddamn Romans.

I agree here, the game should have first been announced in Feb in Sweden then end March. :bonk:

The good news is : We are April 2, then the game is not a joke.

The unification of China could be a dream coming true since it will have elements of ancient armies (á la Rome) plus a storyline not touched by any other developer so far. And considering the huge market China is, even with all piracy, it could be a wise move.

Why can't they just tell us? I'm getting to the point of being bored with this ongoing speculation.

No announcement can be done until some publishing contracts are well underway, or this could hamper their success chance. There is no other reason and the aim is really not to frustrate the players believe me!

no problem, you deserve explanations... We would like to announce the subject on which the two Stéphane are working on since what now, more than a year, but it would not be wise or we could lose a lot in the end. We really want them to get success and exposure on their project.
