Tue Jul 12, 2011 10:04 am

I downloaded last public beta patch and started Austrian campaign again ... I played it last time 10 months ago. And I must say, I still love this game, AI is competent and system works fine ... thanks AGEOD !

With the 1.03, I 've been able indeed to boost the Austrian AI side. My regret belongs to the Prussian AI, as at this time, AGE didn't have the command necessary to help it to choose among several teathers of operations. And I hadn't found too the best method to write AI events, as I discovered it for RUS. Then the new algorythm for concentration built in the exe has solved most of the dispersion trouble AGE AI has suffered until the 1.02.

the more I play this the more I become convinced that RUS is one of the best strategy games I have ever played... and I have played many since the mid 80's. The AI in this mod is at level with Sid Meier's best efforts.

I just bought the game about a week ago, and I'm loving it. Playing as the Prussians and I'm up through 1758 in the grand campaign.

Do the Russians still starve? We stopped our PBEM long time ago until this was fixed.

I don't know what was done, but the last few times that I played I could keep the Russians supplied, no problem. ;)

I played the game after some good months as well... (as the Prussians)

It was awesome  Konigsberg almost running out of supply every year (I thought on two separate occasions the Russians will take it), a Swedish siege of Berlin, fingernail-biting action around Hannover, Kassel and Magdeburg, Koeniggratz changing hands several times... it was awesome.

As usual, the only way I could end the game was by conquering Vienna.

One thing I did not like - but I guess it can't be helped - is having the Russians near Minden because generals and/or armies (or army names?) get redeployed around the map by the AI. Unpleasant, and can only be fixed by playing as the Austrian alliance yourself.

Oh, and Austrians besieging Leipzig and Dresden while I was besieging Troppau and Brunn was ... weird. But I can put that down to Austrian ineptitude. :D

Overall, a 10/10 experience. I've re-learned to respect the Prussian army in a very, very personal way. :)

In my game with Narwhal I have deployed some Russian generals in Kasel as they have lesser supply consumption ability. But generally AI does not deploy Russian troops in Minden but only generals maybe. Battle report showing French soldiers as Russian(Green colour) as Russian general commanding them in some instances.
