As I see now, many problems which I have described, are not with the game itself, but because I was playing (better try to play) the scenario in 1916, a scenario with several nations involved from the beginning, what slows down the performance (as I now know).
I followed the advice of Chris Ferrous's and increased my swap file to 4096 MB (Windows does not allow me more).
Incidentally, it was already too set to low.
So thank you Chris Ferrous.
If I select now no more four player scenarios, the game runs smoothly, just as described by Chris Ferrous.
By the way, I can´t see no difference by scrolling, if I don´t choose the option to load the map from the beginning.
If I load the low color depth map, should there be a advantage in game speed?
Until now I was spared from crash.
I can´t say more right now because I have not gotten to play extensively and not enough sleep anyway (AGEod´s fault).
The most important change/innovation/statement/message about the game and Templer´s pain is, that future messages relating no more to the damo version.
As a friend of complex strategy games I just couldn't pass the -50% a pop.
So I bought AGEod´s World War One Gold Edition this morning 1:20 am.
I rarely buy "valuable" games via download only without no boxed version.
calvinus should still gets his cigar now.
A serious concern.
Also four player campaign should (have to!), according AGEOD's system requiremants, be playable on systems like mine!
But I hope to the future calvinus and/or AGEOD continue working on the game.
Right now the game does not equal the high standards that I've now on AGEOD.
Greetings and thanks
Templer
And let´s kick the Kaiser!
