Just participate in some of the forum threads in a sensible way or even better, start posting an AAR for your new PBEM game that you're starting. You'll soon have the 10 posts and plenty more. The new rules were put in place by Rafiki to combat the drive-by spammers that were registering and then using the PM system to SPAM the membership PM capability. In some cases those SPAM PMs can also contain semi-disguised MALWare links, which if clicked on (deliberately or accidentally) can deposit destructive trojans.

It might be a small imposition to have to post 10 posts first but if we were not actively working to keep this SPAM crud out of the forum threads and PM system, there would be enough of it that sooner or later you would end up mistakenly clicking on the disguised forms of SPAM due to the sheer volume.

Another thing, if enough SPAM is allowed to be posted or remain on a forum, that forum can gain a bad reputation for allowing it and be publicly shunned for it.
