Love the map! Hand-drawn?

Mon Oct 11, 2010 8:01 pm

I love the look of the RUS map. It appears more similar to the hand-drawn style of the map for ACW than to PoN's map.

My question about PoN's map has generated answers pointing out that hand-drawn maps have their limitations.

Was the RUS map hand-drawn?

Exactly what I feel when I look at any point of the map :) .

Seriously, imho this map is one of the best of any AGEOD game, on par with AACW and BOA.

Yes it is. :)

Is it easy to modify then ?

No it's not. :D

But yeah. I am very happy with the efforts Gilles has done on it. Kudos to him.

I love the map too, even if not as much as AACW and BIA ones (which are absolute gems). The artist is the same the made the RoP map, right? :)

Thanks a lot guys !
It is enjoyable to have such good words about its work !

About the map, I have to say that the idea of being closer to ACW map was from Philippe Thibault.
I just picked from all the differents maps( BOA2, WW1, WW1 Gold, ROP) I did over the years for Ageod, the best of them.
I think we have a nice mix of ACW, WW1 Gold and ROP, which is my favourite.

This is not really hand-drawn because everything is done in a computer graphics software but the point to reach was the style of old maps.

I just hope you will enjoy the game as much as I loved creating all the graphics.
See ya !

Yes, great looking maps you did for Ageod. You have taken the torch of the original map designer (Sandra, IIRC) and carried it really high up :winner:

(PS: It's a pity that PoN will not have the "Ageod" style maps, but...)

And he used the Googlemap of 1915 :D , as there is still the Aral Sea on his map (as it should).
