American Civil War Gaming Club adds the game

Thu Mar 13, 2008 12:14 pm

Just wanted to drop you all a note letting you know that the American Civil War Gaming club has just decided to add this game to those approved for play. The club has only played the Talonsoft and HPS games up to now but just voted to add this game and Matrix's Forge of Freedom game. If anyone is interested in doing some role playing along with their gaming and meeting some other guys interested in the ACW then you might check us out.

Very interesting but... Well, I couldn't find any info on AGEOD or Matrix games. I would be very willing to play those games there but it looks like you still didn't update your page.

Thanks
Forrest said something about killing a Yankee for each of his horses that they shot. In the last days of the war, Forrest had killed 30 of the enemy and had 30 horses shot from under him. In a brief but savage conflict, a Yankee soldier "saw glory for himself" with an opportunity to kill the famous Confederate General... Forrest killed the fellow. Making 31 Yankees personally killed, and 30 horses lost...

He remarked, "I ended the war a horse ahead."

I had hoped for this result. Now I got to find myself a Reb ... for some odd reason, all people I know in the wargame.ch clubs that play the Ageod game are on the same side as myself.

So, do you already play AGEOD ACW there or you just play those other games?

So far, it was not possible to register games other than the John Tiller (BG/HPS) games in the ACWGC. I did play a few AACW games with a fellow Federal officer over there, but they were unofficial. Which is probably why I haven't played that much AACW at all, so far.

Now, however ... :)

Thanks. So basicaly you role play as a commander earning ranks and medals by playing different ACW games and scenarios via PBEM?
If that is the case, as soon as they add AGEOD ACW, I will be there to enlist :coeurs:

Quite so. The game is already added, so feel free to sign up. Of course I would recommend donning the blue coat, but on the other hand, if you feel like wearing gray, you may find a challenge at your door once you get commissioned. ;)

Hi all. I just joined the club today. How many other AACW folks have joined?

Back in the late 1998 thru 2001 I use to be long to this club. Lead and Army, I was the C0 of the Army of the Ohio, this was alot of work keepingthe rosters and standings.

Great bunch of guys and I fought a great many balls(battles). Back in 2001 I sold my entire Talonsoft Collection. Sent the game to a guy and he never sent payment. So much for trust back then. Well I might dust off my old Union uniform and re-enlist.

I joined the Union Army. We should set up a PBEM as soon as we graduate from our respective higher learning institutions: VMI/Union Military Acadamy

I just looked at the American Civil War Gaming Club website.
I'm tempted to join.
It sure is complicated to register tho, kinda off-putting.
Maybe if they made it easier, I might make the plunge.

I have been looking at this site for a couple of years (I own many HPS/Talonsoft titles) but haven't squeezed the trigger on joining. My PBEM time is very limited but I have been tempted....

Give it a shot. Seem to be some really good folks  Joining wasn't that difficult and they're very responsive.

I joined the Union and am in the middle of my training PBEM.
