Crash during game and saved games not loadable

Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:25 pm

Dear Team,

I was here once, I think some 1-2 years ago.

The issue prevails or started again.

During the game the game crashes with a "Sorry" message and games saved are stored on PC but can't be loaded via the game interface "load game".

One thing is for sure, you guys need to patch this game and make it Windows Vista and Windows 7 compatible and working. Other games work, why not this one.

A little more information would be helpful.
So many fixes have been applied if you have been away so long.
When did the game crash? What were you doing?
It is likely your saved games are in a folder which is not in your current game folder. My guess.
I play in Vista and Windows 7 and have found the game works very well. If you can be a bit more specific about your issues, I am sure someone can help make these games work for you as they do for others.
These are wonderful games. I hope you share you issues in a more specific format so the members of the forum can bring you into the pleasure we find in these games.

Please try these solutions:

Your situation occurs in all of the AGE "elderly" games, and these solutions work well.
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Lodi, the link you have entered addresses to replicate the post, and probably it's not what you wanted to post.

Maybe you wanted to put this link.

Note the old date of my post. Housekeeping and forum upgrades have intervened!
Old link changed, but old links are always "iffy"....

I also refer people to the Wiki:

I knew this was an old thread, but it was the most recent one describing my problem.

The game froze (screen saver). I shut it off with program manager. I am on windows 7, but I did not install the game in "Program Files" (I never do if I can avoid it - too much trouble).

So I knew where the save games were, they just didn't show up on the load screen.

As such the link did not help me. For the benefit of others with this issue the solution is to take the backup folder (backup 1 normally) in the folder for the game you want, copy it to the save folder and rename it. Worked like a charm.

A simple solution but not readily visible on the forum
