issue..."Could not find any compatible Direct 3D devices."

Wed May 04, 2011 8:42 pm

My opponent has this problem. In loading up the game AACW he gets the message, "Could not find any compatible Direct 3D devices." Now he will uninstall and reinstall the game..as per a previous discussion on this which was found in the forum.

Question, what is the logical explanation for this occurrence?
He has had to reinstall the game now twice over the past three weeks.

I believe he had the same issue with RUS when we were playing that...

As per him everything/video card..etc., has been updated that is on his pc....

Any suggestions?

Thanks... :)

Normally rebooting will fix his issue. On some rare computers it happens when 2 applications running DirectX are active at the same time (one being the game, the other... can be directX powered desktop of Windows Vista+). But this is very rare, as AACW is not running in exclusive mode.
