Crash Issue

Wed Jul 15, 2009 2:16 am

I experienced a crash issue on 1.14 while going through a game with an inactive AI (compiling an updated generals listing). I believe I'm right around early 1864 as the Union when the game stalled and gave me the attached error. I've zipped and attached the main log, the recent turn files as well as some back up files. I tried rebooting my computer and it gives me this same error when I click "Load Game". At this point I cannot load the test game I was running or the other saved game I have. Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
BB

Gray_Lensman wrote:I'm sorry to hear you are having problems, however this is not a v1.14 crash issue. This is a incorrect Mod installation issue and should be posted in the AACW Mods sub folder.

The problem resides in what you were attempting to do with the general's listing. You have introduced an outside error in some way with what you were doing and now the only way to clear it up is to uninstall/reinstall. I go thru such processes several times a month, and have to back up and regroup to a reinstallation almost every time. I'll take a look at your files here, but from now on, when you are modding the game files with outside independently modded files whether the AI is enabled or not doesn't matter, please post the questions in the AACW Mods folder. You're much more likely to attract attention to your MOD issue(s) that way. :)

Gray - I wasn't modding any files, just going through the game to update the general list PDF with the few minor changes (verfiying by actually going through the game with AI off). I don't think I did anything to any of the files. I'll do an uninstall then reinstall. I may have screwed something up on the first install when I had two things running at once.

The turn saved is a file with 0 byte... something is corrupt and the file should be deleted.

Gray & Pocus - Thanks for the help. I deleted the most recent turn files and used the files in the latest back up folder and the game reloaded without issue. Sorry to have bothered you. I'll add that little process to my repertoire in the future.

Stop using light to perceive things Michael, this is a rather obsolete method of being aware of your surrounding... ;)
