BoA Crashes when I launch it

Thu Sep 11, 2008 10:44 am

Hello, I have this game and I installed the patch that is available at the web, but whenever I launch it it crashes always. here is the error I get:

BoA.exe has detected a trouble and will close.

Error signature:
AppName: boa.exe AppVer: 1.1.3.3 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.5512 Offset: 00012aeb.

After that window another one opens saying:

Exception exception dans le module BoA.exe dans 000E0278.
Failed to initialise directx Audio. Directx 8 may not be instaled.

I don't have a sound card at my PC but I thought I could play without sound... is there anything I can do to play the game???

Hi eneas, sorry to hear that you're having problems with the game.

Since the error message mentions it; do you have DirectX installed on the machine?

You could buy a USB soundcard very cheaply... e.g.

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9723

(your computer has no sound hardware at all? I didn't think such things existed nowadays...)

it's my office computer, cos i don't have internet at home and wanted to play via mail with a friend. I asked the informatic guy, and he said it does have a sound card but not the drivers, so I just solved the trouble :) thx a lot for the help ;)

you can always disable sound init within a game config file also.
