all sorts of things are planed, but its mostly a question of (lack of) time.

A small note though on the turn files: is exported in them only the things the player see, so by perusing into it you would not get informations of enemy armies in fog of war anyway...

I wouldn't even think of cheating. How could it be fun? I hope BoA players are intelligent enough and don't cheat! :grr: We're not playing Monopoly!! :tournepas

Definitely a mixed response- What I was really looking for was an idea about the availability of opponents. Cheating is a medium concern and not seeing the replay of the opponents turn is a lesser concern. After playing the demo and reading about this game I think I could have some fun with the AI but I much prefer playing against humans. There is no glory in beating a machine  Pocus I would take a look at the Decisive Battles Series by SSG (Korsun Pocket, Battles in Normandy, Battles in Italy) for a system that, IMO, really does email well.

dpstafford wrote:It should be noted that PBEM is very minimally supported by BoA. There are no passwords, no file encryption. And a very limited "replay". Not only is it easy to cheat, it is hard not to accidentally cheat. Some of these problems are solved if you can find a third non-player willing to "host" your game. But the replay is still just a listing of messages, not an actual viewing of the turn.

Having said that, yes, I am playing a game by e-mail and enjoying it! And I maintain some hope that AGEOD will further develop the PBEM option.

As Pocus said, there are things planned in the "PBEM service" domain, it is mostly a matter of time... Please stay tuned, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed. :niark:

Hi,

I've never played PBEM before but i'd love to give it a go to see what different approach a human would take.

Name: Ryan (Chief Rudiger)
Scenario: Montcalm. I like this Scenario for its limited duration, size of forces and the importance of weather.
Preferred Side: Britain
Frequency: I'd guess i'd like to play a good few turns a day, but nothing quick-fire.

Additional Info:

From Scotland and like Feltan, enjoy playing in character but against the French in the FIW - expect those Highlanders to be making an appearance in a breach near you.

Still doing?

Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:32 am

New player, not sure if anyone is looking for foe still......

My username is SoulBlazer. Prefer to keep my e-mail private unless I get a PM from someone. I live in the Eastern US, don't mind playing either side but prefer American, and don't mind any sec although I'd like to try the 1775-1783one. I figure I can do a turn or two a day, more on my days off from work (Thursday and Sat).

If interested, please send me a PM here.

Wolfie

Scenario/Campaign: Either 1775 or 1776 GC (or a shorter scenario if opponent wants to "break the ice" first)
Preferred Side: No preference
Turn frequency: Once/day
(edit: Probably much faster to get in touch with me via e-mail to start a campaign; I don't sign in to these forums more than once every couple weeks.)
Additional information:
Where you live : Seattle, WA, USA
I'm a law student here in WA, so may not often have as much free time as I'd like.. but I love the game. I've only played all the way through one full GC as Britain and won, but all the settings were on Medium, with no AI advantages. Looking to find a human opponent now, while also playing against the AI on harder settings for practice.

Name : Hobbes
Scenario/Campaign Name : Any < 50 turns to start off with
Preferred side : Any
Turn frequency : A turn a day / a few more at weekends but also happy to play a few less
Time Zone : Does this matter? A timezone difference tends to help PBEM games

This will be my first BoA PBEM game. Hope there is somebody out there who fancies a game. Please send me a private message if interested. I have been fiddling about with the game since it came out but have yet to complete a game. I think I need a PBEM to get me going. Happy to play great players or dreadful ones!

Cheers, Chris

Anyone interested in a casually paced French-Indian War campaign?

I'll play any side and can average about 5-9 turns a week.

I live in western Canada (Mountain Time).
