NEW! Found your opponent? Feel free to "turn off the lights"

To make it easier to find people that are currently looking for opponents, everyone now has the option of closing (and reopening) threads they have started themselves*. This way you can let the world know that you have found the opponents you seek by closing the thread for further postings.

Should you later reconsider, you can re-open your thread (and perhaps reply to bump it into attention).

So, how does one close a thread?

Close to the top of the thread display, you'll find a link named "Thread Tools". Clicking it will bring up a menu that looks the one in the image above (though most of you will have fewer options in it than me ;) ). Make sure that "Close Thread" is chosen and the click "Perform Action". VoilĂ ! Thread closed.

To re-open a closed thread, you pretty much do the same things, except that you choose "re-open" rather than "close".

Consider this arrangement to be a trial for now; if it turns out to work well, we'll keep it; if not, we'll see what we do

Of course, feel free to let us know what you think of this and whether or not it'll actually make things better :)

I see topic tools but it doesn't have a close thread option.
