Why dont you do a double installation?
Its easy. Just reinstall using a different installation folder name.
You can have an ACW 1.10c installation for the current PBEM game and a a 1.10d for solo play or new PBEM games with all the new goodies :cwboy:

Best option to have the 1.0 installed in AACW2 folder and the current release in AACW.

When a patch is released, uninstall AACW then delete the contents of its folder.
Copy content of AACW2 into AACW, apply the current patch.

Of course, make sure to keep the saved games and put them back in the AACW Saves folder.

sorry for the trouble. This might be a bug, we need to check that. There are no compatibility issues, regardless there you bought the game, the patches are all the same.
Can you please send the logs and the savegame which is crashing upon turn resolution to support@ageod.com ?
(As a single zip or rar archive if possible and with a reference to this thread.)

Thanks!

I've sent the file as you asked. I've installed/uninstalled many times to new directories. The game is unplayable for me as is.

Thanks for your help!

Apparently now even the 1.10c 'fix' that I was using is not working. I've uploaded the file however it is returning as undeliverable (?).

Anyway, I brokedown and bought the download directly from Ageod today along with BOA 2. Even though I now own 3 copies of AACW I don't mind as the AGEOD support is fantastic and the products are high quality.

Most people don't mind paying more when they see a quality product and one that is continuously improved. Thats called good value.

Kentucky Scenario

Sat Jul 19, 2008 3:24 pm

The Kentucky scenario that comes with Grey's latest update mentions objectives on the Mississippi and further West, but the allowable play area is only Kentucky and Tennessee.

If I'm not mistaken, the current objectives and background for the new Kentucky '62 scenario are just filler. I owe Bigus proper writeups for the new scenario. Maybe next patch.

Possible bug

Sun Jul 27, 2008 4:04 am

I ran into a problem with Jabberwock's Grahpic leader mod and I thought that these lines in the !main log was causing the problem:
.........................entery from !main log ver 1.10d.............................

10:07:05 PM [Warning ] TModel.Create The model 217 Robert E. Rodes has a TechUpg value of -2147483648 Check if the alias is correct, corrected to -1
10:07:05 PM [Warning ] TModel.Create The model 304 John Schofield has a TechUpg value of -2147483648 Check if the alias is correct, corrected to -1
..................................................................................................
I have installed multiple copies of the game for each mod. The Graphics leadership mod is in it's own folder patched to 1.10d and the latest RR Mod file before installing Jabberwock's mod.

I did some investigating and found the above warning enteries in a version of 1.07h boxed version patched with 1.10d. I ran another test with just the boxed version 1.07h and the above entery is not there.

If this would help I do have store on my computer patches 1.08a thru 1.10d. I could install each patch and find out when this entery first appears.

So far as effecting the game, I can not say. I have only played a dozen or so games 0f the april 1861 scenario only for 10 turns jsut learning the mechanics og this game. So I have not played long enough to tell.

check those 2 models files and make sure that there is a $ in the TechUpg line ie TechUpg = $ldr_CSA_Rodes2 I've had this error type several times and that usually fixes it.

It rings a bell from an earlier version to have problems with Rodes and Schofield maybe make sure yo are properly patched.

I don't think the problem lies there.
My logs always have this messages since months ago with and never caused any problem. I think those messages are part of the "standard" game loading process for everybody,
Probably a bug that was fixed by Pocus by making sure some date was changed at game start.

Check the spelling of the names, alias, etc. in both the units listed and their associated tech upgrade models [it may be the higher rank, may be the lower rank]....
Always ask yourself: "Am I part of the Solution?" If you aren't, then you are part of the Problem!

Carr and Lensman,
Since I have a large HD, I have mutiple installations of the game. I created a testbed and started to apply all patches from 1.08a to present with out any mods. After each patch installation I started the game and quite after I got to the menu screens. I looked over the !main Log. The entries are not found in in version 1.07h a Best Buy boxed version. After I installed 1.08a the above line entries for Rodes and Schofield appeared. These line enteries for the !man log continue to appear with each patch to presesnt.

This proves that it is not being caused by Jabberwock's General Graphics Mod. I had not used any mods at all. Just plain vanilla installs. Lensman if your PC has a big enough hard drive do the test yourself. :siffle:

$ldr_CSA_Rhodes2 should be $ldr_CSA_Rodes2
$ldr_USA_Shofield3 should be $ldr_USA_Schofield3

I knew it rang a bell having a problem with those 2 and yes it was the spelling in their case. Ironically its a vanilla problem as most modders have probably corrected it.

Flavour only but George E.Pickett is down as "Georges E. Pickett"

Paradox was pretty good about their updates for awhile, but that seemed to tail off a couple years ago. ... which made me not want to play their games since they were essentially unfinished. Kudos to Ageod.
