67 in a month and a half -- I might be the oldest geezer here. Please say that I am not. Grew up playing Avalon Hill board games. Been with Ageod since Birth of America was released.

Well by the month of June I will be all but 70 years old. Weaned on Afrika Korps and Tactics II of Avalon Hill as a youngster....bought and painted my Napoleonic troops of the Bavarian Army using first Charge! Or How To Play War Games and then Column, Line, and Square rules. :dada:

64 this year. Started wargaming in 1968 with Avalon Hill's Jutland and 1914 and still have both games complete. First computer game was Computer Harpoon in 1989 on a state of the art DOS 386DX-25.

I found a reference to Bish Iwaszko who I played modern wargames with - he was something of a guru in London in 1968:

29...

I have a feeling I'm always into older people's hobbies. No matter whether I'm playing wargames, collecting militaria, building models or reading, I've never stopped feeling like I felt when I was a kid and was playing Aces over Europe and Total Annihilation with my father and his friends :mdr:

I'm actually surprised you are old enough to remember Total Annihilation! The world needs people like you.
P.S. 55 here soon to be 56.

I'll be 41 next week. Gettin' too old, even for video games. 41 is too young to be old, and too old to be young.

At 41 you are DEFINITIVELY NOT TOO OLD for video games, what is this nonsense!! What will you do when you retire?? No, video games are the future for all old people!

Don't forget to do some sport each week though. Your body is your capital, don't waste it.

I'm blue collar, so I'll probably never retire and will end up dying on the job. However, I'll do my best to keel over while playing my last campaign of Civil War II, whiskey bottle next to my keyboard.

Sadly, no. Gave up tobacc'y two years ago (saw too many smokers go down from lung and heart problems). I'll just have to spare those parts and put a bullseye on my liver instead. It doesn't make sense, but hey, we're only human.

As this thread keeps being extended I feel more and more a need to share, I was born in time to share Avalon Hills early growth and own all of its most early games which I bought when they said for players 12 years of age and up and I was not yet able to meet that label.
Thus, I still approach computer games as if they were board games. In 1961 when I was 11 my teacher said that in 2005 we would once again have a year which read upside down as does 1961, and sure enough, 2005 has come and gone and I am looking for the next year to flip, so to speak, as I met my most important goal as an 11 year old when will I again be able to reach such a year - so go figure.

Well the old ageod titles are basically board games and will remain classics, just hope more young people would find them.

I have chronic back pains too. I have one word of advice: Sport.

When I stop doing sport, back pains increases over time rapidly.

I am painting a house today and it seems that it helps but I am also on medication so hard to say.
Do you have problems with your discs or what? I am suspecting I have that as my hands and feet also feel numb and tingling and I supect it is a herniated disc .
Will see the doctor on monday but now trying to heal by staying active.

I cut my teeth on AH's 1914 game, then moved on to SPI games. followed by ancient miniatures.

The clouds parted and the sun came out when I discovered Ageod.
