Hi. I've only recently joined this forum, so I thought I'd introduce myself.
My name is Alan Stewart and I'm from Scotland (no, I don't vote SNP.....) My first ever computer game was "The Hobbit" for the Spectrum, and I thought that was great: Me: [Tell Thorin to f**k off] Computer: [I don't recognise the word 'f**k'....]. Ah, those were the days.........................
Then along came Ageod. I've built up a reasonable collection of Ageod games, including Espana 1936, Thirty Years' War and many more, and I've been beaten by many of the great generals in history. Well, actually I think they've ALL beaten me... I haven't dared try multiplayer so far, but I'm working up to it so watch this space.
I hadn't realised just how much impact the English Civil War had on Scotland, so it's been interesting finding out. and visiting some of the local battle sites. Incidentally, you could say I have a direct connection, as one of my distant ancestors was a corporal in Col. Fairfax's regiment.
Looking forward to taking part in the forum and possibly a few gentle intro games in multiplayer.
Alan S.
