I have a vague gut sense of how things work in the AGE2 engine:
A max number of rounds. Random dice rolls with preferential coefficients for different battle portions.
But I don't know how it all hangs together in terms of a stacks composition of elements/terrain.
In a sense, the fight it yourself graphical nature of the TW games, make the stats much more apparent.
ie:
* You can see ranged combat kicking in before heavy weapons.
* You can see the speed of cavalry catching slower units with poor defense.
* You can see heavy infantry holding a protracted line for an extended period.
* You can see cavalry charge bonus decimate heavy units locked in combat from the rear.
So, in the TW games, the stats and combat can be visualized quite graphically. I know there are all the same considerations in AGE2, but I am not sure how to see it.
I ask here, since I am interested in 2 AGE2 games: AJE and CW2.
Thanks.
