Trading resourses distribution

In some guides I read about resourses distribution through the map. For instance, using salthouse you can distribute salt. What it means? As I know you can get resourse only inside trade range. And salthouse dosn't storage salt. So I can not get salt from salthouse for close regiones, only from original source. Can anybody explain me this thing?

Trade goods are brought to a region either by in-region production (natural or buildings) or by trade.

If a good is produced in the region, it can be traded out if another region needs it.

'needed' trade goods are taken from any producing region in your trade range. 'bonus' trade goods are only available if they are already in the region or a neighbouring one

So if you make salt, well it can be used in the region (many buildings do use it) or traded. But that means another region has a 'need' for salt and you are inside their trade range.

There is a lot more to it than this, so best to have a look at the manual, especially the player's notes as that may help you understand what is going on

From Grognerd's Guide:
"Salthouse:
A pretty decent structure, 5 Food AND 8 Health! And it helps distribute Salt around the map."
What it means? How salthouse can help distribute salt? As I understand, salthouse can only consume salt. Or I can someway transport salt or some other resourse from Iberia to Bactria?

best advise is to read the manual.

the salthouse creates the salt trade good, that good can then be traded. so you are not just reliant on the few places where salt is a natural good.

there are a lot of buildings that work this way.

I read. As I understand, salthouse is final consumer of salt, not trader. I read in manual that salt from salthouse may be used for bonuses for adjacent regions, but not for transportation to next consumer. So I wrote my question trying to clerify this moment. And I tried to make search query in game ledger for available salt resourses in some regiones. Neighboring salthouses have not been included in resulting table.

to repeat - the salthouse attracts the salt to the region (IF it is available in your trade range). Once it is in the region it can be used as a bonus good by other buildings both in the region and adjacent.

this is in the manual, its the key to how needed and bonus trade goods interact.

if a building needs a bonus it won't as such trade for it, it requires it to be either produced locally or attracted by a building.

thus the salthouse takes manufactured salt and brings it to new parts of the map.

Lots of buildings work in much the same way and some are incredibly useful (if lots of others look for that good for a bonus)

to loki100:
You don't understand me. Ok, example.
I have natural source in Region 1. I have salthouse1 in Region 2. And I want build salthouse2 in Region 3. All regiones located on straight line and and have 3 trade range. Distance between regions is 3. But distance between Region 3 and Region 1 is 6. Region 2 can get salt from Region 1. Question: can Region 3 get salt from Region's 2 salthouse? On other words: can salthouse provide salt not as a bonus resourse, but for further trading?
