I purchased WSS on Steam when it was released. Each time I start the game I get the following prompt on loading:

Several errors have been generated and the application is stalling.

No
Cancel

If I press Yes, the loading will continue but it will crash to desktop.

If I press No the game will load to main menu, but the game will be quite unstable.

How can I resolve this issue? Thanks!

In my case this technical issue was solved by Slitherine Support.

The problem was with a couple files in the Sound folder - French letters in their names

Indeed, the issue is related with the use of special characters in two files. Please do the following:

Rename the files named "WSS_Lully_La_Marche_Française" as "WSS_Lully_La_Marche_Francaise" and "WSS_Lully_Marche_du_régiment_de_Turenne" as "WSS_Lully_Marche_du_regiment_de_Turenne". These can be found in your game installation folder at:
...\Wars of Succession\WSS\Sounds

Then download the file attached in this message, unzip it and replace the "Music.ini" file in the "Sounds" folder with the extracted one.
