Battle Planner

Sat Jul 22, 2017 1:13 am

I did a little bit of experimenting with the Battle planner. Here are the results

Battle Planner Study
Infantry Cavalry Artillery Power
Gustavus 4779/ 2447/ 26/ 687
Pappenhiem 5531/ 880/ 24/ 216

Terrain: Clear Def Tactic: single line
Swedish Tactic Swedish Loss/ Empire Loss
Single line – strong center 59/42
Single line – cav flank 101/41
Double line – strong center 78/41
Double line – cav flank 60/54
Checkered- cav flank 85/57
Turned off 48/52

I ran some of the more than once – there was a large variance sometimes.

To quote one of the Sharpe shows:
Means nothing to me either, Lawford. That's why he's a general, and we ain't.

Love that Sharpe.

You do explain one thing I love about the game, most battles have a wide range of possible outcomes. This is not chess. It is probability with some honing of how and why and leadership.
