Gentleman how do the diplomacy boxes work?

I am several years into a PBEM and have yet to see any options for them.

Click on the middle of the three icons in the upper-left corner--the one that looks like a couple of playing cards. The Decision options will appear along the bottom of the screen, and are scrollable sideways.

Yeah I know about those. What about the diplomatic boxes on the top of the map? Is there any interaction with those?

You will eventually get RGDs to play in those regions, hence Hrothgar's reply
"Umbrellas will not be opened in the presence of the enemy." Duke of Wellington before the Battle of Waterloo, 1815.

"Top hats will not be worn in the Eighth Army" Field-Marshal Viscount Montgomery of Alamein K.G.

Yes, when you click on the middle icon, you will see cards, e.g., "Dip on Brand." Choose a card and drag-and-drop it onto the Diplomatic box. They affect the attitude of of the power toward you, altho how and to what degree is somewhat a mystery.
