French Army Creation (Feb 4th patch)

Thu Feb 04, 2016 7:59 pm

O.K. bear with me, this is going to get complicated.

It's January 1805, first turn. I go about my usual set up a ghost army at the coast, ready for when le Grande Armee marches east. I take Berthier out of the Grande Armee (being the most senior officer with 4 (S), not my usual choice; it'll all become clear, trust me) and if I promote him to army command, it will be a hit of 10 morale (M) and 1250 Victory Points (VP), and anger Murat 5 S, who in turn if I promote him (by dismissing corps status first, and with all subsequent examples.) it will be 3M, 375 VP, which will anger Augereau 9 S, who will cost me 6 M, 750 VP, which will anger Bernadotte 10 S, who will cost me 3 M, 375 VP, which will anger Soult 12 S, who will cost me 5 M, 625 VP, which will anger Lannes 13 S, who will cost me 5 M, 625 VP, which will anger Bessieres 14 S, which will cost me 4 M and 500 VP, which will anger Ney 15 S, who will cost me 10 M, 1250 VP, which will anger Davout 16 S, who will cost me 3 M, 375 VP, which will anger Marmont 26 S, who will cost me 6 M, 750 VP, who will anger...wait for it...Berthier, who now, will cost me nothing in morale and vp loss, as it says he is now the most senior commander.

Is this WAD? It seems a long way around to promote the most senior officer without a drop in morale or vp. Berthier was the only unit 'moved' out of the Grande Armee stack; he remained in the same regions. To get the results above no corps commanders were detached, simply dismissed, so I don't know if this has an effect.
