Abstract BAD living conditions- no offense to you or the Greeks BTW. What the - British did in Salonika was quite similar to what the Germans did in Belgium, wrongful occupation of another country. But WORLD OPINION being pro-UK forgave them, Keegan and later Historians took the British to the cleaners and rightly so for this duplicity.

Bad living conditions - giving the WE army- -5% Cohesion and Men each turn.

Thanks.

For what it's worth, I think I figured this one out. Non-colonial generals get 12 CP and colonial generals get 24 CP in Africa.

Non offense taken, what you describe is historically accurate. Unfortunately. And I showed you with a picture in another thread: today in Greece there is only a small obscure cemetery to remember the heroes from the "Indian subcontinent"! :(

However, in this case I don't think we need to do something in particular, perhaps simply decrease the "civilization" or depot level of certain Greek region(s). Civilization level is directly proportional to what a region can offer and for small "normal" regions it's probably the best and easiest abstraction to change. When the Allies troops arrive they will be so many that it will probably be impossible to feed and take care of them in the long run unless accompanied with lots of supplies.

EE is not in Africa and CP has limited units in Africa. So penalty for WE and balance achieved.

That might just work.

Getting off Salonika and back to German Colonies, I'd be interested to know if in EAW it is possible to send a Zeppelin down to the German African colonies? The Germans actually DID try this, sending supplies, arms, and ammo.
The ship involved spent several days in the air but did not succeed, mostly due to communication problems with the intended target for resupply, and turned back. The intent was to send the Zepp down there and break it up for materials - ie a one way trip.
It could be an interesting what-if scenario. The Zeppelin would need to be able to transport, say, two supply units (I have not looked at Zepps in the game to see if they have an allowance for this but if not they COULD be amended) and, if the mission succeeds in getting to the Colony, the Zepp is "lost" but the German player gets to activate two fresh infantry units in the colony - to represent the arming of German colonists and/or native levies.
AGEOD take note??

We can't handle this like this for the time being, because air units don't have load capacity for the moment. Plus we would need a special unit, as this Zeppelin was specially fitted for the trip. IMHO, the best way to handle this is an option to the Germans with a chance of success set randomly

Maybe a 50% chance of success, 2 Askari Regiments are raised in Ost-Africa for Von Lettow if success or else If failure, the Bulgars can upgrade 2 Militia to Infantry, as the Zeppelin was flown from Bulgar Territory if my memory serves right.

That would be a cool little flavour event. I think we need more of those!

Indeed, it flew from a field near Burgas. It was routed back by a false British radio message while flying over Kartum

I managed to ship one down there on a transport unit along with some troops. I
think I was extremely lucky to have evaded detection, but they got through.

Hi Philippe, that would be so cool if you COULD include it as an option that appears like other events such as Mata Hari. It is these "little things" that make this sort of game so enjoyable, and it teaches people the history they may otherwise have known nothing about.
BTW, this game is diabolically hard to learn but I am persevering. Sacre Bleau!

Oh. Thanks for the confirmation. I had read it up many years ago. Really cool piece of engineering it was considering the 'time', almost 100 years ago. Every small thing was supposed to be reusable and the Zeppelin itself was to be cut up and made in to tents etc. It covered thousands of miles over almost uncharted territory and turned back after covering over half the distance, so maybe it could have reached CP units in East Africa if they had pushed on.. the Great War is interesting due to these small things.
