C. Devens

The USA general C. Devens, Charles Devens, has the nickname 'Buford's Hard hitter' in the game. I believe this nickname is properly attributed to a Thomas Casimir Devens, who commanded a brigade under Buford - most famously at the Battle of Gettysburg.
The rest of the flavor text, and the date of entry, strongly suggest that C. Devens is supposed to be Charles Devens, not Thomas C. Devens.
