Serial Key for Steam?

I recently bought CW2 (with "the bloody road south" DLC) from Steam. I've played about 72 hours, had occasional error messages (in French) and CTDs, but persevered and today won the game; this also caused a CTD. Since then, I have tried to start the game but it persistently asks for a "serial key." I obviously don't have one, since I downloaded through Steam. Also, my log and savegame folders are now empty. I am running Windows 7 Pro with a i7-4790s and 16GB RAM.

Very cache integrity or even better deinstall and reinstall, Steam should work without asking that, there must be a file that got erased.

Thanks! Check integrity found some missing files and replaced them, and the game successfully loaded afterwards. However, now the stacks outside structures are invisible on the map. So reinstall it shall be
